Small satellite resourcesThe World Wide Web offers extensive support for small satellite projects. Whether it is for a conceptual study for an educational course, for a civil, commercial or military contract, or just for interest, these links here should help you find some of the information you are looking for. For links to spacecraft projects, please consult the relevant satellite lists [nano, micro, mini, interplanetary]. Links to specific launchers can also be found on their own page. If you find a link to information that may be relavent to small satellite projects, please use the form at the bottom of this page to submit it! The categories for the links are:
For satellite busses, please refer to the small satellite companies and organisations page.

Tracking A site on NASAs Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) is designed to help new projects determine if TDRSS is a viable solution for providing tracking and data aquisition services. While TDRSS is customarily thought to be exclusivley for larger flight projects such as Hubble Space Telescope and Space Shuttle, NASA is currently working on designs for low cost, low weight TDRS compatible transponders. Remote Sensing and Sensors NASA maintains a comprehensive page of Sensor Technology and Remote Sensing links and information Remote Sensing and Sensors Descriptions of the MOS, IRS-P3 and SeaWIFS systems at DLR. Focused on enabling low cost breakthroughs in critical technology elements, the Bantam technology program of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is aiming to conduct test flights in FY1998. The objective is to provide launches for payloads of less than 200kg for a total cost of no more than $1.5 million. |
