The Final Analysis Communication Inc. FAISAT system is to comprise 26 LEO satellites, with 4 spares and 2 initial experimental satellites, providing low rate data and non-voice digital communications. It is intending to use its proprietary frequency sharing technique using both TDMA and CDMA allowing its system to share the spectrum with other users. The system is expected to cost in excess of $200m

The 115kg satellites are to be launched at 1000km height into 4 orbital planes inclined at 66 degrees, and two further planes inclined at 83 degrees.

FAI received an FCC licence in the second round in early 1998, after receiving a licence to launch two experimental satellites. FAISAT-1 was launched in 1995, and used up to May 1996. Faisat-2v was launched in late 1997. An agreement with AKO polyot will permit the 26 satellite constellation to be placed in orbit on four launches. In turn, AKO Polyot will be the service provider in Russia and the CIS. FAI is also proposing to fly NASA Earth Observation payloads on 12 of the spacecraft.
